I am a freelance journalist living and working in Austin, Texas. I write about public affairs, education,  parenting, and public health.
I have been a regular contributor to the Austin Chronicle  throughout the COVID-19 pandemic (March 2020-present).  From November 2016 through April 2018, I wrote about police, city pensions, development and housing issues.
I contributed several health stories to the Texas Standard, a program produced by KUT public radio in Austin in 2018 and 2019.
I wrote “The Learning Curve,” a monthly column on education matters, for the Austin Family Magazine, from October 2016 through March 2018.
I have had bylines in the Austin American-Statesman, Texas Tribune, Dallas Morning News, Austin Monitor, Texas Heritage Magazine and more. I have occasionally written blog posts for non-news sites such as Freelance Austin.
